Biographical Information

Yuping Chen received the Ph.D. degree in optics from Department of Physics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Shanghai, China in 2002. From Aug.2005 to Aug. 2006, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow in Prof. R.W. Boyd’s group at Institute of Optics, University of Rochester, New York. She is currently an Associate Professor with Department of Physics, the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Optical Communication System and Networks, SJTU. She has published over 30 papers in refereed journals and conferences. Her current research interests include quasi-phase-matching nonlinear optics, slow and fast light technique and applications, all-optical wavelength conversion and logic gates in all-optical signal processing.

Research Field

With the bases of professional knowledge and skill about non-linear optics, quantum optics, ultrafast optics and integrated optics, Develop new type of photonic materials and devices and conduct applied fundamental research on the treatment of all-optical signal. Our current research program mainly focus on the research and apply of quasi-phase-matching non-linear optics, fast and slow ray, and all-optical wavelength conversion within the area of optical communication and optical logic gate.
